An international cast of metal veterans, providing quality hard & heavy music for a good cause.
Dario’s dream of recording a charity album to donate to research against leukemia dates back to the ninties, when one of his closest friends in high school lost the fight against the horrible disease at just 19 years old. After a lifetime spent on stage and after having written and recorded more than a hundred songs with his bands Drakkar and Crimson Dawn, Dario felt it was the right time to finally make the project a reality. Of course, after so many years on the scene, it was relatively easy for him to put together a cast of friends that are also wonderful musicians to record what is effectively an homage to the music he grew up listening to – good ol’ hard rock drawing inspiration from the ’70 and the ‘80s, with a touch of traditional and power metal to boot. The impressive list of guests includes incredible singes like Anders Engberg (Sorcerer), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth), Giorgia Colleluori (Sinner), Davide “Damna” Moras (Elvenking, Hell In The Club); amazing lead guitarists like Simone Mularoni (DGM), Kristian Niemann (Sorcerer, ex-Therion), Eugene Simone (Eldritch), Francesco Marras (Tygers of Pan Tang); awesome bass players like Justin Biggs (Sorcerer) and Andrea Buratto (Secret Sphere, Hell In The Club); and thunderous drummers like Michele Sanna (Sunstorm, Sweet Oblivion) and Fabio Alessandrini (Annihilator), and many others.
Songs like “The Things I Want To Be” and “Stand Or Fall” are sure to captivate all fans of bands like Thin Lizzy and Rainbow, while the hooks of “Waiting For Godot” and “Eyes Of An Angel” will make fans of ‘80s staples like Def Leppard and Magnum take notice. While if you’re looking for a more “metal” side, the speed of “The End Of The Human Race” and the epicness of “Mistreated World” will surely get your heart pumping.
“Lost Horizons” is a way for Dario to celebrate his love for hard&heavy music and his brotherhood with so many in the international metal scene, and at the same time to try and help the less fortunate by donating ALL profits to AIL, the Italian association for research against leukemia and related diseases. Supporting good music and a good cause it’s certainly worth it.

You get the best of two worlds: doom and power metal. No band comes to mind that combines them better than Crimson Dawn, and this may be their best release. PKMetal
